About the role
Capital Markets & Compute Strategy at fal in San Francisco. On-site, full-time, paying $180k–$220k. Posted October 26, 2026.
fal is the generative media ecosystem powering the next generation of AI products. We build the infrastructure, tools, and model access that teams need to move from idea to production, and do it at scale without compromise. For developers and enterprises, fal is the foundation that makes generative media not just possible, but practical: a unified platform where high-performance inference, orchestration, and observability come together to unlock new categories of AI-native products.
As generative media reshapes industries across a market projected to grow by hundreds of billions over the next decade, fal is becoming the ecosystem that ambitious teams build on.
About this role
fal is growing fast, and so is the capital behind it. Compute is where most of that capital goes, so how we raise and structure it is one of the most important jobs in the company.
This is a capital markets role built around compute. You'll help raise and structure the capital that funds fal's growth, across debt, equity and the financing of our compute. To do that well, you'll need to understand the compute deals themselves: how capacity is priced and contracted, and what that means for how it gets financed. At most companies this work is split across treasury, capital markets and corporate development. At fal it's one role, and you'll help build it.
You'll work closely with fal's finance team and founders, and directly with lenders, investors and compute partners. fal is deliberately flat, with very few titles or layers, so you'll own real work from your first week. The pace is fast and the playbook is still being written.
This isn't a support seat. Once you're up to speed, you'll lead workstreams on your own: take a financing from first model to close, run a process with lenders or investors, and bring your recommendation straight to the founders. We're looking for someone who wants that kind of ownership and can move without being told what to do next.
This role is onsite in our San Francisco office.
What you'll do
Capital markets
Raise debt. Lead financings that support fal's growth, from structuring and lender outreach through diligence, documentation and close.
Raise equity. Help run fal's equity rounds end to end, including the model, investor materials, data room, diligence and follow-ups.
Own the relationships. Keep a live view of every lender, investor and compute counterparty, know what each one needs next, and make sure nothing slips.
Keep stakeholders informed. Manage ongoing reporting and compliance, and keep lenders and investors up to date.
Compute transactions
Finance compute deals. Model fal's compute commitments and the financing behind them, including cost, returns and downside cases, and bring a clear recommendation to the founders.
Shape the terms. Work with our compute, engineering and legal teams on the commercial and financial terms that drive cost and risk.
Diligence counterparties. Get to know the providers and partners we work with, and understand their financial health as well as their pricing.
Corporate development and market view
Evaluate strategic deals. Look at investments, partnerships and acquisitions, and build the analysis leadership needs to make a call.
Know the market. Keep a clear view of compute pricing and the financing market, so every deal is judged against it.
Automate. Use AI tools to take the manual work out of recurring reporting, diligence and deal tracking.
Requirements/Nice to have
7+ years of experience, starting in investment banking and ideally followed by time in private equity, private credit, infrastructure investing or an in-house finance seat.
You've taken complex transactions from first look to close, and done the modeling and structuring yourself.
Excellent financial modeling. You can build a model from scratch, stress-test it and explain what really drives it.
Working knowledge of credit (term sheets, credit agreements, leases, covenants) and how equity rounds come together.
Good judgment. You can take a messy question, figure out what matters and land on a recommendation you'd defend.
Clear, simple writing. You can turn a complex model into a memo or deck that a lender, investor or founder gets in five minutes.
Very organized. You can run several processes at once, with many counterparties, without dropping details.
Resourceful, low-ego and high-urgency. You'd rather build the process than inherit one.
A working grasp of, or real curiosity about, how compute is priced, contracted and financed.
Experience financing or investing in data centers, power or other hard assets, including asset-backed, project finance or GPU financing.
Exposure to GPU or cloud markets, such as capacity contracts, neocloud economics or hardware procurement.
M&A or corporate development experience.
Time in a corporate or startup finance seat after banking or PE, ideally with some investor relations work.
A track record of using AI tools to automate finance workflows.
