Director of Engineering - Global

We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead and scale a global engineering organization within a fast-growing, AI-driven technology environment. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise, ensuring engineering teams consistently deliver high-quality, reliable solutions. You will manage and develop engineering managers across multiple teams, establish strong execution practices, and drive continuous improvements in engineering performance. Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, you will translate business priorities into impactful technical outcomes. You will also provide architectural guidance, oversee production reliability, and champion AI-assisted development practices. Accountabilities

In this role, you will lead engineering execution, strengthen organizational capabilities, and ensure technical teams deliver scalable, reliable solutions aligned with business objectives. Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers across multiple teams, fostering strong leadership and accountability.

• Establish clear expectations for delivery, engineering quality, team performance, and organizational health.

• Oversee engineering execution, including planning, delivery predictability, prioritization, and cross-team coordination.

• Provide technical leadership on software architecture, system reliability, and complex production challenges.

• Define and monitor engineering effectiveness metrics, identifying opportunities to improve development processes and delivery outcomes.

• Drive the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to increase productivity and efficiency.

• Collaborate with Product, Operations, and customer-facing teams to align technical priorities with business needs.

• Participate in customer discussions involving complex integrations, technical challenges, and escalations when necessary.

Requirements

The ideal candidate combines extensive software engineering experience with proven leadership capabilities and a strong track record of scaling engineering organizations. You should demonstrate:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including substantial hands-on technical work.

• 4+ years of engineering management experience, including managing other engineering managers.

• Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams within a fast-growing organization.

• Strong technical expertise in backend development, API services, third-party integrations, and production automation.

• Experience building or leading teams developing AI-powered products and automation solutions.

• Demonstrated ability to scale engineering organizations while maintaining delivery quality and operational effectiveness.

• A proven track record of improving execution, accountability, engineering processes, and team performance.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including enterprise customers.

• Strong ownership mentality, sound judgment, and a results-oriented approach to leadership.
