Working with customers, engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and field personnel, you will deliver reliable systems that meet demanding operational requirements.
The role offers hands-on involvement across the full project lifecycle, from system design and configuration to testing, commissioning, and operational handover.
You will work extensively with Ignition SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, industrial networks, and communication protocols.
You will also contribute to improving system performance, cybersecurity, reliability, and engineering standards.
This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while developing your expertise within a collaborative, safety-focused engineering environment.

Accountabilities

You will lead and support SCADA engineering and systems integration activities, ensuring that automation solutions are reliable, secure, and aligned with customer requirements and project objectives.

    • Design, program, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SCADA systems, PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, gateways, instrumentation, edge devices, and industrial networks.

    • Configure and support Ignition SCADA applications, including Perspective HMI, scripting, alarming, Tag Historian, reporting, and data visualization.

    • Develop technical specifications, network drawings, I/O lists, control narratives, commissioning records, and operational handover documentation.

    • Lead or support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), systems integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational handover.

    • Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, P&IDs, control schematics, network diagrams, communication architectures, and panel designs.

    • Coordinate with customers, internal engineering teams, field personnel, contractors, and vendors to ensure technical requirements and project schedules are met.

    • Identify opportunities to improve SCADA standards, cybersecurity practices, system performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

    • Ensure all engineering and commissioning activities comply with applicable safety, electrical, regulatory, and customer requirements.

    • Support project delivery through effective technical communication, documentation, and coordination.

    • Participate in customer-site activities and provide technical support during commissioning, outages, and critical system events.

    • Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced electrical or automation engineer with strong SCADA development and systems integration capabilities. They should combine practical technical expertise with effective communication, independent problem-solving, and the ability to coordinate projects remotely and on-site.

      Required qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

      • At least 5 years of experience in SCADA design, programming, systems integration, commissioning, or troubleshooting.

      • Hands-on experience with Ignition SCADA, including Perspective HMI, Python or Jython scripting, alarming, Tag Historian, and reporting.

      • Practical experience configuring, programming, and troubleshooting PLCs, RTUs, industrial controllers, gateways, and edge devices.

      • Knowledge of industrial networks, fibre optics, VPNs, remote access, operational technology communications, and protocols such as OPC UA, DNP3, Modbus TCP/RTU, and RS-485.

      • Ability to interpret electrical single-line diagrams, P&IDs, control schematics, network diagrams, and I/O lists.
