In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of advanced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems for mission-critical data centers, colocation facilities, and smart building and city projects. You will work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop scalable infrastructure solutions that meet demanding technical, operational, and performance requirements. From structured cabling and fiber optic networks to security and audiovisual systems, you will oversee key design activities throughout the project lifecycle. You will also support project coordination, technical documentation, quality assurance, and client engagement. Using advanced engineering software and emerging digital tools, you will help improve design accuracy, operational efficiency, and project outcomes. This is an opportunity to work independently within a collaborative, innovation-driven environment while contributing to complex infrastructure projects across the United States.

Accountabilities:

  • ICT Engineering and Design:
  • Perform ICT engineering design activities for structured cabling, fiber optic networks, security, access control, CCTV, and audiovisual systems.
  • Conduct technical calculations, computational analyses, and design activities for complex projects, components, and infrastructure systems.
  • Develop scalable fiber optic and copper cabling infrastructure designs with limited supervision.
  • Determine physical-layer routing, pathway requirements, and infrastructure utilization to ensure efficient and reliable network connectivity.
  • Use AutoCAD and Revit to develop engineering drawings, models, visual aids, and technical design documentation.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, including project books and individual specification sheets.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess existing building conditions and prepare technical reports documenting findings.
  • Collect and analyze field data and other technical information required for construction documentation.
  • Prepare project designs, technical specifications, and construction documents in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
  • Project Management and Quality Assurance:
  • Coordinate design activities and contribute to the effective management of project teams, including resource forecasting, workload planning, and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Support project leadership in managing complex automation and ICT engineering assignments.
  • Identify potential changes in project scope and help develop strategies to minimize cost impacts, manage deviations, and maintain delivery schedules.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) peer reviews for projects where you are not the lead design engineer.
  • Coordinate with technical staff and other departments to ensure design consistency, technical accuracy, and timely project delivery.
  • Plan and delegate work when required, supporting effective resource utilization and project execution.
  • Ensure assigned tasks and deliverables are completed accurately, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Administrative and Operational Responsibilities:
  • Review, prepare, and distribute daily project and operational reports.
  • Support project contract administration and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Track and manage personal and project working hours using designated company systems.
  • Prepare and complete departmental reports and administrative documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, internal stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams, occasionally serving as the primary client contact.
  • Technology, Digital Tools, and Innovation:
  • Leverage AI-enabled solutions and digital tools to improve engineering workflows, reduce manual tasks, and enhance the quality and consistency of deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize operational processes through new technologies and innovative working methods.
  • Stay informed about emerging engineering technologies and evolving digital workflows.
  • Support the adoption and integration of innovative tools across project teams and departments.
  • Demonstrate a continuous learning mindset by developing new technical skills and contributing to improvements in team performance.
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience using Revit modeling software for engineering design and documentation.
  • At least 5 years of engineering and project management experience on ICT projects, including a minimum of 2 years working on mission-critical data center design projects (preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of fiber optic components, cabling infrastructure, and interconnection products.
  • Strong understanding of ICT structured cabling design technologies, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of audiovisual systems, access control solutions, and CCTV design standards and technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams, with strong digital file management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to produce accurate technical documents, reports, specifications, and professional correspondence with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies, with the ability to apply them to streamline engineering workflows and improve operational efficiency.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical and non-technical information clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision while contributing effectively to collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain performance under pressure.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate complex technical challenges, assess alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
