Accountabilities:

  • Requirements analysis: Collaborate with business analysts, developers, project managers, Scrum Masters, and functional stakeholders to review project requirements, clarify discrepancies, and establish a clear understanding of expected deliverables.
  • Test planning and estimation: Develop comprehensive testing strategies, prepare high-level test plans, create detailed functional test cases, and provide testing effort estimates during project initiation and planning.
  • Test execution and defect management: Execute planned test cases for software releases, production changes, data updates, and production incident fixes. Identify, document, track, and communicate defects to support timely resolution.
  • Quality documentation and audit readiness: Prepare detailed testing evidence and supporting documentation to demonstrate test execution. Ensure all records are securely maintained and properly archived for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Project coordination and reporting: Monitor testing activities against project timelines, ensure QA deliverables are completed on schedule, lead testing walkthroughs, and provide regular weekly progress reports to project stakeholders.
  • Release readiness assessment: Evaluate overall testing results, identify outstanding issues or risks, and provide recommendations regarding application readiness for production implementation.
  • Continuous improvement: Contribute to improving testing methodologies, quality assurance practices, and collaboration processes while adapting to evolving technology platforms and project requirements.
  • Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 1–2 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, software testing, quality control, or a related IT position.
  • Previous experience in the financial services or mutual fund industry is required.
  • Good understanding of standard quality assurance methodologies, testing practices, and quality control principles.
  • Practical experience with test planning, test case development, manual test execution, defect identification, and issue tracking.
  • Foundational programming knowledge, preferably in Java or another object-oriented programming language, acquired through academic studies or professional experience, is considered an asset.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt testing approaches across web-based applications and digital or marketing technology platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and critical-thinking abilities, combined with a structured and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Curious and investigative mindset, with a genuine interest in understanding how applications, systems, and business processes operate.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple testing activities, deadlines, and priorities effectively.
  • Collaborative attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn in a dynamic and evolving technology environment.
  • Must have current legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation: Total annual cash compensation ranging from CAD $65,000 to $81,000, including base salary and target discretionary performance bonus, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Retirement savings: Employer contributions to a Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) after six months of employment, with no employee matching requirement.
  • Comprehensive healthcare: Health benefits effective from the first day of employment, with 100% employer-paid premiums.
