Lead Solutions Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Solutions Engineer based in the United States.

As a Lead Solutions Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across a portfolio of critical enterprise applications and integrated platforms. You will shape end-to-end solution designs, guide engineering teams through complex implementations, and ensure technology decisions support long-term business objectives. Working closely with business stakeholders, architects, infrastructure specialists, and engineers, you will help deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions. You will also strengthen integration practices, reduce technical risks, and improve engineering quality across interconnected systems. This is a hands-on technical leadership opportunity for an experienced professional who can influence decisions, solve complex challenges, and drive meaningful improvements without necessarily managing a team directly.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will guide solution design and technical delivery across complex enterprise environments, ensuring that implementations meet business needs while maintaining high standards of scalability, reliability, and quality.

Technical Leadership & Solution Design

• Lead the design of end-to-end technology solutions across complex enterprise applications and platforms.

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and develop effective, scalable solutions.

• Provide technical leadership for initiatives involving multiple systems, integrations, and cross-functional dependencies.

• Ensure proposed solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, technology strategies, and long-term business objectives.

• Evaluate technical approaches and recommend solutions that balance business priorities, scalability, maintainability, and delivery requirements.

Engineering Leadership & Delivery

• Guide engineering teams on implementation approaches and ensure alignment with architectural and technical designs.

• Help teams navigate complex or high-risk initiatives by resolving technical challenges and removing delivery obstacles.

• Promote strong engineering practices, development standards, and technical discipline.

• Review and validate key technical designs, implementation decisions, and integration approaches.

• Influence technical direction and support teams through leadership and expertise without requiring direct people-management responsibility.

Enterprise Integration & Collaboration

• Drive consistency across integration patterns, APIs, data flows, and interactions between enterprise platforms.

• Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, security, and application teams to deliver cohesive technology solutions.

• Act as a technical connector across interconnected business systems and platforms.

• Ensure system interactions and data flows remain reliable, efficient, scalable, and maintainable.

• Identify dependencies and potential technical risks across the enterprise application landscape.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Establish and reinforce standards for solution design, engineering practices, and system integration.

• Identify and address architectural gaps, technical risks, and operational inefficiencies.

• Improve application reliability, scalability, performance, and overall technical quality.

• Reduce technical debt through practical, forward-looking engineering solutions.

• Contribute to the continuous evolution of enterprise technology standards and practices.

Requirements

The ideal candidate combines substantial software engineering or enterprise architecture experience with the ability to influence technical decisions, collaborate across functions, and guide teams through complex technology initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, enterprise applications, solution architecture, or technical leadership roles.

• Strong experience designing and implementing solutions across complex enterprise applications and integrated technology environments.

• Experience supporting large-scale, business-critical platforms or similarly complex operational systems.

• Strong understanding of system integration, APIs, data flows, and distributed system design.

• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and guide engineering teams through complex initiatives.

• Experience partnering with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technology solutions.

• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to lead across teams and functions without direct authority.

• Ability to understand complex technology landscapes and identify opportunities to improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in highly regulated or complex business environments.

• Exposure to modern technology environments, including cloud platforms, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

• Experience working in Agile or hybrid technology delivery environments.

• Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles, technology governance, and architectural standards.

• Experience collaborating across multiple interconnected enterprise platforms and technology teams.
