About the role

Maintenance Strategy Manager at Jobgether in US. Remote, full-time, paying $160k–$170k. Posted November 4, 2026.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Maintenance Strategy Manager based in the United States.

The Maintenance Strategy Manager will develop and lead the maintenance strategy across a portfolio of data centers, strengthening equipment reliability, operational consistency, and long-term asset performance. This role translates reliability analysis into practical maintenance strategies, standardized procedures, and task schedules that guide how critical equipment is maintained. A key priority is leading the transition from outsourced maintenance services to qualified internal teams through a structured, readiness-driven approach. Working closely with technical training, engineering, EHS, vendors, and site leadership, the manager will ensure maintenance scopes are supported by approved procedures, appropriate tools, and qualified technicians. The position also oversees strategic vendor relationships, maintenance standards, and reliability performance across multiple sites. This is a remote U.S.-based opportunity with travel to data center locations as needed.

Accountabilities

    • Develop and lead the maintenance insourcing roadmap, prioritizing vendor-to-internal transitions based on asset criticality, specialization, cost, workforce readiness, and operational coverage.

    • Establish readiness requirements before each transition, including approved maintenance documentation, qualified technicians, available tools and parts, and site approval.

    • Develop and approve comprehensive maintenance packages, including SOPs, MOPs, task instructions, safety requirements, tooling and parts lists, and qualification standards.

    • Collaborate with EHS teams, site subject matter experts, OEMs, vendors, and technical training teams to ensure maintenance procedures and training programs are ready for implementation.

    • Build and govern the equipment strategy library, translating FMEA and RCM analysis into preventive, predictive, condition-based, and run-to-failure maintenance strategies.

    • Own and maintain the Master Maintenance Index, ensuring maintenance tasks and intervals align with approved equipment strategies and that changes follow established change management standards.

    • Manage critical maintenance and repair vendors, including qualification, onboarding, service-level agreements, performance scorecards, reviews, escalations, and transition planning.

    • Support site maintenance prioritization based on asset criticality and deferral risk, provide strategic guidance to site teams, and escalate recurring or high-risk issues to leadership.

    • Monitor preventive maintenance completion, planned-to-emergency work ratios, and reliability KPIs to identify inefficiencies and recurring equipment failures.

    • Provide equipment failure history and reliability insights to the Data Center Asset Manager to support repair, refurbishment, and replacement decisions.

    • Requirements:

      • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

      • At least 7 years of experience in maintenance strategy, reliability-centered maintenance, or maintenance planning within data centers, industrial operations, or critical infrastructure environments.

      • Demonstrated experience developing equipment strategy libraries and governing maintenance tasks and intervals across multiple sites.

      • Strong understanding of preventive, predictive, condition-based, and run-to-failure maintenance models and their appropriate applications.

      • Experience managing maintenance and repair vendors, including SLAs, performance scorecards, business reviews, and escalations.

      • Ability to define technical, safety, and certification requirements for maintenance activities and translate them into procedures and technician qualification programs.

      • Experience collaborating with training teams, subject matter experts, and site operations to develop and implement maintenance standards.

      • Strong analytical skills and experience using reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and preventive maintenance compliance to drive improvements.

      • Experience leading maintenance insourcing initiatives or make-versus-buy decisions, including transitioning work from external vendors to internal teams, preferred.

      • CMRP or CMPS certification is considered an advantage.

      • Benefits:

        • Base salary: $160,000–$170,000, depending on experience.

        • Additional compensation: Performance bonus and sign-on equity grant.

        • Equity participation: Eligibility to participate in long-term equity incentive programs.

        • Retirement savings: 401(k) plan with a generous employer match.

        • Healthcare: Multiple medical plan options, including plans fully paid by the employer.

        • Wellness and lifestyle perks: Free gym memberships, pet insurance, childcare discounts, and additional benefits.

        • Work arrangement: Remote within the United States, with travel to company sites as needed.
