About the role
Principal Engineer, New Products at Jobgether in US. Remote, full-time, paying $180k–$200k. Posted November 3, 2026.
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Engineer, New Products based in the United States.
This is an opportunity for a senior technical leader to shape the architecture and engineering vision of a new business line from the ground up. You will translate business goals into scalable technical solutions, guide system design, and drive the delivery of critical initiatives. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and business stakeholders, you will provide technical direction to an initial contractor team, with potential to support additional teams as the platform grows. The role combines strategic architectural leadership with hands-on engineering and daily use of AI coding agents. Success means building reliable, maintainable systems and scaling execution through smart processes, automation, and AI rather than simply increasing headcount.
Accountabilities:
-
Own the technical vision, system architecture, and long-term engineering strategy for a new platform, balancing speed, flexibility, maintainability, and long-term health.
-
Design scalable infrastructure supporting integrations across numerous third-party systems, including pharmaceutical manufacturers and veterinary clinic platforms.
-
Architect data pipelines, APIs, and services that enable reliable information exchange between clinics, pet owners, manufacturers, and industry stakeholders.
-
Translate business requirements and customer needs into clear technical designs, delivery plans, and product roadmap recommendations.
-
Lead end-to-end execution of key engineering initiatives, coordinating timelines, dependencies, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.
-
Provide architecture reviews, technical guidance, and project-level oversight for complex initiatives spanning multiple systems and teams.
-
Establish technical standards, expectations, and deliverables for an initial contractor team, with the possibility of supporting one or two additional small teams.
-
Scale engineering productivity through process improvements, automation, and daily hands-on use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code.
-
Identify and mitigate risks involving third-party integrations, data quality, platform scalability, reliability, and performance.
-
Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to inform architectural decisions and the technical roadmap.
-
10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a Staff, Principal, or equivalent technical leadership role.
-
Strong hands-on experience with C#/.NET, the primary technology stack, and cloud-native development, including building proofs of concept.
-
Proven experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and large-scale third-party integrations, ideally in healthcare, veterinary technology, fintech, or SaaS environments.
-
Strong architectural expertise, including event-driven design, data modeling, and the ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs between immediate business needs and long-term scalability.
-
Ability to translate business requirements into clear system architectures and actionable delivery plans.
-
Experience building a new product or system from scratch and guiding its technical evolution.
-
Demonstrated ability to align multiple teams and stakeholders without formal authority, while leading small teams and contractors through clear standards and processes.
-
Daily practical experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, with the ability to explain how these tools influence software design, development, and code review.
-
Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a hands-on, action-oriented approach to technical leadership.
-
Annual salary range of $180,000–$200,000.
-
Remote work opportunity within the United States.
-
Transparent, market-benchmarked compensation with predefined salary ranges.
-
Performance-based compensation adjustments tied to clearly defined and consistently applied criteria.
-
Opportunity to shape a new business line and establish its technical foundations.
-
A hands-on leadership role with significant architectural ownership and influence across internal teams.
