As a Senior IT Finance and Compliance Manager, you will lead financial planning, accounting oversight, and compliance activities across a complex global technology organization.
You will manage a substantial IT budget while ensuring technology investments, operational priorities, and financial strategies remain closely aligned.
Acting as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, you will provide financial insights, forecasts, and recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
You will oversee IT accounting and purchasing processes while driving transparency, cost efficiency, and financial discipline across technology operations.
The role also carries significant responsibility for IT compliance, internal controls, audit readiness, and risk mitigation across critical enterprise systems.
Working closely with senior finance and technology stakeholders, you will help strengthen governance, improve operational performance, and support long-term transformation initiatives.

Accountabilities

You will oversee the financial management and compliance framework for the IT function, combining strategic financial leadership with operational oversight and cross-functional collaboration. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Manage an IT budget of approximately $70 million across operating expenses and capital investments.

    • Develop and execute the IT department's annual operating and project budgets, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and technology objectives.

    • Coordinate financial planning with the CIO, IT leadership, IT Project Management Office, and corporate, sector, and segment finance teams.

    • Lead headcount and compensation planning in collaboration with corporate finance, local HR teams across nine countries, and IT leadership.

    • Maintain and update the three-to-five-year strategic financial plan, incorporating technology priorities and business stakeholder requirements.

    • Manage quarterly forecasts and develop real-time financial scenarios to assess risks, opportunities, and the financial implications of IT portfolio decisions.

    • Act as a strategic financial advisor to the CFO, CIO, and senior IT leaders, contributing to executive planning and budget discussions.

    • Lead the development and validation of capital authorization business cases for IT initiatives, covering approximately $5–10 million in annual project investments.

    • Ensure appropriate application of US GAAP capitalization requirements for IT projects, including ASC 350-40 and relevant guidance for internal-use software, Agile delivery models, and cloud-native solutions.

    • Own and improve IT cost allocation and chargeback models, ensuring transparency around expenses, allocation methodologies, and billing schedules.

    • Advise on cost-sharing approaches and engage with sector and segment finance leaders to explain and support allocation assumptions.

    • Partner with IT Vendor Management, technical leads, and project managers to establish and implement controls over external technology spending.

    • Oversee IT accounting and purchasing activities through direct management of an offshore IT Accounting and Purchasing Analyst, providing coaching and professional development.

    • Monitor IT expenditure, investment returns, and compliance with financial policies and accounting standards.

    • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, as well as the monthly IT chargeback process.

    • Maintain financial reports, performance metrics, and KPIs that communicate actual results, forecasts, and budget variances.

    • Lead responses to internal and external audits, access control reviews, financial application assessments, and regulatory requests.

    • Serve as the primary IT representative for audit and regulatory engagements, ensuring appropriate coordination and timely responses.

    • Oversee IT compliance activities, particularly SAP-related controls, access governance, and SOX-relevant processes across in-scope applications.

    • Identify compliance gaps and recommend improvements to internal controls, including segregation of duties, production change management, software management, and application security.

    • Develop and communicate compliance reporting, metrics, and progress updates to relevant stakeholders.

    • Act as a liaison with corporate finance for financial consolidation and strategic reporting.

    • Drive continuous improvement across IT financial planning and analysis, aligning practices with industry standards and operational excellence objectives.

    • Requirements

The ideal candidate combines advanced IT financial management expertise with strong compliance knowledge and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. The following qualifications and capabilities are expected:

      • Candidates with an IT-focused bachelor's degree should have at least 7 years of experience in IT financial planning.

      • At least 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in a formal people management role.

      • Demonstrated experience acting as a strategic business partner to C-suite and VP-level stakeholders, beyond traditional reporting and financial analysis.

      • Experience supporting US-based audit and compliance programs, including SOX and internal controls over financial reporting.

      • Deep knowledge of US GAAP requirements for IT expenditure, including capitalization, amortization, and cloud computing arrangements.

      • Familiarity with ASC 350-40 and ASU 2018-15, including their application to technology investments and software development.
