About the role
Senior Product Designer at Jobgether in Canada. Remote, full-time. Posted November 4, 2026.
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Designer based in Canada.
As a Senior Product Designer, you will shape the experience of products and tools used without a traditional user interface, including APIs, command-line interfaces, SDKs, and configuration environments. You will make complex developer experiences easier to understand, faster to implement, and more reliable in production. A key part of your mission will be designing for AI agents as first-class users, ensuring they can discover tools, execute tasks, and recover from errors independently. You will establish consistent design principles and conventions while partnering with Product, Engineering, and other teams to improve the overall developer journey. Working across strategic direction and hands-on initiatives, you will help define the future of agent-oriented product experiences. This is an opportunity to influence an evolving technical design discipline within a global, remote-first organization.
Accountabilities
-
Own the overall experience of APIs, CLIs, SDKs, configuration, and other headless product surfaces, maintaining consistent design quality across products.
-
Define and evolve API and developer experience conventions, including design patterns, consistency, error handling, and documentation standards.
-
Treat agent-facing interfaces, such as MCP servers, tool descriptions, schemas, and CLI outputs, as intentional product experiences.
-
Establish standards for how AI agents discover, interact with, and recover from errors in APIs and tools.
-
Define measurable indicators of agent experience, including task success rates, error recovery rates, and tool-call efficiency.
-
Test and evaluate experiences with both human users and AI agents.
-
Co-own assigned initiatives with Product Managers, shaping the headless customer journey from the first API call through production operations.
-
Design agent journeys that enable AI systems to build, run, and operate solutions on users' behalf, including handling failed calls and recovery scenarios.
-
Improve time to first production and strengthen customer confidence in operating the platform.
-
Collaborate with Product, Forward Deployed Engineering, Marketing, and Legal teams on topics affecting the headless experience.
-
Partner with UI/UX designers to ensure consistent terminology, patterns, and journeys across graphical and headless interfaces.
-
Enable other builders through tools, training, guidance, and feedback on major initiatives, helping establish design quality beyond individual contributions.
-
Proven product design experience with APIs, developer products, or platform experiences; this is a design-focused role rather than a purely engineering position.
-
Experience working in B2B SaaS environments, ideally within highly regulated industries.
-
Hands-on experience designing APIs, command-line interfaces, MCP servers, or tool schemas consumed by large language model (LLM) agents.
-
Understanding of common agent-facing design challenges, such as ambiguous errors, non-idempotent calls, and undiscoverable capabilities.
-
Experience designing agent-first or AI-first product experiences.
-
Ability and willingness to use the product and understand its technical workflows.
-
Ability to make abstract technical systems concrete, testable, and easy to explain.
-
Confidence in collaborating with Product Managers and Engineering teams, challenging assumptions, and defending design decisions.
-
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
-
Experience with automation or orchestration products.
-
Experience evaluating agent interactions by running tasks against APIs or tools and using observed failures to improve the experience.
-
Annual total target cash compensation in Canada ranging from CAD 146,800 to CAD 241,500, with final offers based on experience, skills, and location.
-
Equity opportunities through a Virtual Stock Option Plan (VSOP), where applicable.
-
Fully remote and flexible working arrangements.
-
Home office budget and support for co-working spaces.
-
Flexible time off.
-
Annual company kickoff events, team off-sites, and local team gatherings.
-
Connection budgets supporting in-person meetups and opportunities to connect with colleagues while travelling.
-
Locally tailored healthcare benefits.
-
Access to global mental wellbeing support.
-
Lifestyle Spending Account supporting health, family care, personal interests, meaningful experiences, and financial wellbeing. The program launches in 2026 and scales to €1,000 annually from 2027.
-
Retirement and pension plans, often including company contributions, as well as life and disability insurance where relevant.
-
Annual professional development budget of up to $1,000 (or local currency equivalent) for courses, certifications, books, and other self-directed learning.
You will own the end-to-end headless product experience, balancing long-term design strategy with hands-on initiative delivery. Your work will help developers and AI agents move from initial API interactions to reliable production operations.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate has a strong product design background with practical experience in APIs, developer tools, or platform products. You should be comfortable working closely with technical teams, translating complex systems into understandable experiences, and designing for both human users and AI agents.
